Ali originally trained as a graphic designer, gaining a BA (Hons) degree before working as a packaging designer and then for two London design studios.
At this time, Ali always worked with black and white. A number of years ago she expanded into experimenting with watercolour and mixed media.
Living near the Essex/Suffolk border, Ali developed a deep love of the Stour valley countryside and the East Anglian coastline. Ali's subjects include countryside views, seascapes, flowers, and birds. Her colourful pictures evoke many emotions, from warm memories of childhood summer days to the power of wild winter storms; from outdoor scenes to interior still life; and from laughing family groups to solitary figures.
Ali was involved in a number of successful exhibitions in the area, where many of her works have been sold or commissioned. Such is the demand that prints of some of her pictures are now available.
Unfortunately, Ali was diagnosed with a brain tumour during 2011, but she was surrounded by many friends and family and made many happy memories before she was taken from us in June 2014.
Ali was painting up until the day she passed, and this website is not only to showcase her talent but to also remember her.
All of Ali's work displayed on this website is of the many paintings and sketches that she had hidden away. This website is not only acting as a gallery but all the work shown here are for sale, unless stated otherwise, with 50% of every sale going to The Brain Tumour Charity.
If interested in purchasing or exhibiting any of Ali's work, please take note of the reference number(s) of the work and use the contact form to get in touch!
